The Cadore Valley
Wonderfully beautiful Dolomite scenery
Cadore is the name of the river valleys of the Boite, the Ansiei and the Piave, extending outwards from the village of Pieve. The Marmarole mountain range – one of the most secluded and beautiful of the Dolomite groups – is situated in the middle of the Cadore village. Huts can be found only on the southern edge – all who want to cross the range will need about 4 days and have to sleep in bivouacs. In general, the villages of the Cadore are very quiet and sometimes lonely in comparison to the nearby Cortina d’Ampezzo. The language which is spoken in this secluded and beautiful area is still Comelico-Ladin, a subgroup of Dolomite Ladin.
Holidays in the Cadore Valley

The three main towns of San Vito di Cadore, Auronzo di Cadore and Pieve di Cadore are conveniently located and offer excellent sport facilities for all those who wish to eschew the hubbub of Cortina d’Ampezzo.
