The Primiero Valley
The southernmost Dolomite valley
The Primiero Valley in Trentino is probably one of the most diverse valleys in the Dolomites. In the north, dominated by the mountain Pale di San Martino, there is the tourist town of San Martino di Castrozza. It is situated 1500 metres above sea level, while the other towns in the valley, 14 kilometres away in the south, are 700 metres above sea level with a significantly milder climate. Accordingly, the nature in the valley is also very diverse. Virtually cut off from the outside world, the villages in the valley are idyllic – waiting to be discovered by joyful travelling tourists.
Holidays in the Primiero
Anyone who takes a holiday in the Primiero Valley can enjoy the advantage of beautiful skiing and hiking areas with relatively few tourists. While you can take beautiful walks through the entire valley in the summer, in the winter tourists are concentrated mainly at San Martino di Castrozza and the connected ski area.
