Lower Puster Valley
Entrance to the world of the Dolomites
Coming from the Brenner Pass, the lower Puster Valley is the northern entrance into the wonderful world of the Dolomites. From here you can reach some of the most beautiful and popular valleys of the Dolomites such as Alta Badia and the upper Puster Valley. The lower Puster Valley itself is rather shady and sparsely populated – in contrast there are the Pfunder and Valser Valleys and the sun plateaus around the major town of Bruneck. Like Kronplatz, the lower Puster Valley also has a major ski resort, which annually attracts many tourists to the slopes.
Holidays in the lower Puster Valley
Small Tyrolean mountain villages and beautiful farms characterise the landscape of the lower Puster Valley and its side valleys. The valley offers many hiking and excursion opportunities especially during the summer. Even the glaciers in the Zillertal Valley in the Austrian Alps, Bozen, Innsbruck, and Verona as well can be reached in a short time. In the winter the Kronplatz and Gitschberg Jochtal-Vals ski areas offer excellent sports facilities.
