Lake and mountain region around Alleghe
TheLago di Alleghe is relatively new and was created after a massive landslide in 1771, which resulted in the damming of the lake. The landslide trail can still be seen today very clearly. Directly above the lake stands the elongated mountain range of the Civetta (3220 m). Many climbing and mountain climbing routes lead through the mountain range. The Civetta skiing area provides sufficient well-prepared slopes in the winter. On the other side of the Civetta is the Zoldano Valley, which is well known for its ice cream. Not far away from Alleghe are two other mountain ranges: the Marmolada and the Monte Pelmo, which offer many fantastic opportunities for sports enthusiasts.
