Villa Valmarana ai Nani
Dwarf villa with beautiful frescoes
From the access road to the Basilica di Monte Berico you will reach the Villa Valmarana ai Nani by way of a small road. Already on the garden wall you can see the numerous small dwarf-figures (it.: Nani). Legend has it that the daughter of the former owner was small in stature and therefore had only short servants so as to conceal her disability from her; however, when she saw a handsome normal sized young man, she took her own life.
The inside of the villa is certainly worth seeing. Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and his son Giandomenico decorated the main and guest house with beautiful frescoes which show images of the carnival in Venice.
