Bibione
Family resort on the Adriatic
Bibione is the last resort on the Adriatic side of Veneto. For decades, the city has enjoyed an excellent reputation as a family resort – and rightly so! Each section of the beach has its own mini-club, and although the Italians are generally very friendly to children, families with children will find the best conditions here. The miles-long sandy coastline descends gently into the sea without any danger and allows for splashing and playing in the shallow water. Apart from beaches and sandcastles, Bibione has a lot more to offer to its young guests. The big Punta Verde zoo with its 1,500 animals, the Gulliverlandia theme park, the Luna Park and the Aqua Splash water park are among the main highlights.
Bibione itself has no sights. The modern hotel and resort town can at least come up with a well-kept pine forest and a 10-km-long and up to 300-metre-wide sandy coastline. A highlight of Bibione is the modern Bibione Thermae thermal spa to the west of the city centre. In the surrounding area the lighthouse at the mouth of the Tagliamento east of Bibione is worth a visit. It can be reached either on foot or by bike.
