San Placido
Nuns’ church with a beautiful façade
On a small square behind the cathedral is the church of San Placido. It was built after the earthquake in 1693 on the ruins of its predecessor. The single-nave nuns’ church impresses with its three-story concave façade. It was built in 1769 by Stefano Ittar, the co-architect of the Porta Garibaldi.
