Sailing on Lake Garda
Sailing paradise in the north of Italy
No other lake in Italy offers such good conditions for sailing as Lake Garda. Good wind conditions, a fantastic panorama and excellent facilities will make your sailing trip at Lake Garda a real highlight. The northern part of the lake is closed to motorboats and reserved for sailors and surfers who use this part in particular. Those without their own boat can rent one from almost anywhere. Furthermore, the local sailing schools offer excellent courses and individual sailing lessons for beginners. A special feature of Lake Garda are the so-called Homer sailors – sailing boats that are navigated by blind holidaymakers. They can be recognised from afar by their brown and white sails, and you should give them right of way. Special buoys with buzzing sounds help these visually impaired captains to navigate safely through the lake.
