Ravenna's art museum

Ravenna's city museum of art is located in an old 16th century monastery that also houses the church Santa Maria in Porto. Among the museum's exhibits are works from the Ravennese school of painting. It regularly hosts special exhibitions dedicated to different art movements and epochs. The treasure of the Museo d'Arte della Città di Ravenna is a marble sculpture by Ticino-based sculptor Tullio Lombardo 1525. It depicts the mercenary Guidarello Guiderelli, who used to serve the Borgia family, on his deathbed.
