Via delle Volte, also known as the "Street of Merchants", offers an insight into the Middle Ages. Low-rising arches span between the houses lining the connecting road behind the rear exits of warehouses, mansions and stores. Bumpy pavement and dark archways facilitate the retracing of steps from days long gone.
