Owing to its location at the Po River and its many tributaries, the region around Ferrara is rich in scenic diversity impressing with nature, art and history. Among the highlights of the hinterland is Comacchio. Several channels lead through the historic city centre of Emilia Romagna’s Venice inviting to boat travels. The hinterland also has many beach baths and preserved areas to offer. Ro is home to a replica of an original Mill on the Po. The large forest of Mesola offers valuable habitat to rare bird and animal species.
