Palazzo Prosperi-Sacrati
Palace of the Este’s personal physician
Palazzo Prosperi-Sacrati is located at the Quadrivio degli Angeli, the intersection of the ostentatious roads Corso Ercole I. d’Este and Corso Porta Mare - Corso Biagio Rossetti. It was built for Ercole I’s personal physician Francesco da Castello before being altered several times over the course of centuries giving the Renaissance building a particularly colourful, diverse appearance. The imposing doorway with a balcony supported by sitting angels is particularly eye-catching. The palazzo currently belongs to the city of Ferrara that is planning to convert it into a museum for modern and contemporary art.
