A Cistercian abbey well worth seeing

The small town of Follina has opened up to tourism in recent years. Many hotels, guesthouses and restaurants invite you to stay in the lovely little village in the hills. The surrounding area is ideal for walking and hiking. All who are on holiday here or just passing through should make sure to go on a short trip to the Abbey of Follina. The Cistercian monastery is located near the central town square on a hill and offers a picturesque cloister and a high Gothic church with a richly gilded altar.

Just a few miles east of Follina in Cison di Valmarino is the Castel Brando. The conspicuous castle is one of the largest castles in Italy and was completely renovated recently. The castle can be visited on the weekends.
