Mountain village with a Norman castle
The small mountain village of Forza d'Agro is located on a hill between Taormina and Santa Teresa di Riva. in 1117, Roger II gave the village to the Greek Orthodox Basilian monastery Santi Pietro e Paolo d'Agrò, which is located a few kilometres further north in the mountains. The village is still dominated by the ruins of a castle from the 16th Century. From the castle and the village, you can enjoy not only a wonderful view but also taste good and cheap local fish specialties in the evening.
