Columns of the ancient temple
The Roman stock exchange is a gigantic spectacle from the outside. The building was constructed in a monumental ancient temple. At the front there are still eleven colossal Corinthian columns. Originally, the sanctuary was the temple of the Emperor Hadrian. Pope Innocent XII integrated the building of the customs office of Carlo Fontana into the temple in 1700. Today the temple houses the stock exchange.
