Frescoes in the interior
In gratitude for the peace agreement with Milan, Pope Sixtus IV decided to rebuild the existing St. Mary's Church in 1482. Bramante created the current church with a dome and a beautiful cloister. Highlights in the church are the frescoes of the prophetic Sibyls by Raphael. He created the frescoes in 1515, which were later supplemented by saints and prophets by other artists.
