The Crossbowmen’s Quarry

Taking Via Eugippo across Titanus Square, the next stop is the Cava dei Balestrieri. This Crossbowmen’s Quarry was artistically carved out of the rock and today mostly hosts performances of the federation of crossbowmen. The Cava is home to the Crossbowmen’s Palio, which takes place every year on September 3rd as part of the national holiday. The quarry furthermore is the site of the medieval festival taking place every July.
