Breadbasket of the Malatesta

There are good reasons why San Giovanni in Marignano used to be known as the breadbasket of the Malatesta. It is an extremely fertile land crossed by Ventena River heavily relying on farming and vineyards. An extensive industrial and service area developed in the plains. It is hardly surprising that this fertile soil was already farmed during Malatesta times. San Giovanni in Marignano thus adopted a classic, medieval touch from the ruling family that is visible to this day.

History and sports

The range of attractions and activities in San Giovanni in Marignano is special, not least thanks to its unique environs. The village shines with several churches in and around it, such as Santa Lucia with a rare organ from the 18th century or Santa Maria del Monte with its brick facade and informative commemorative plates.
