Impressive baroque palace in Venice

The Ca’ Rezzonico was built by the Venetian baroque architect Baldassare Longhena and is one of the finest palaces in Venice. The former mansion of the Rezzonico family enjoys a picturesque location on the Canale Grande. The English poet Robert Browning bought the palace in the19th century and the beautiful baroque palace was converted into a museum in 1930. With its lavish furnishings and décor, you can get a fascinating insight into Venetian life during the Rococo era. Salon art of the highest level fascinates visitors, and silk wallpaper, tapestries from Flanders and many other valuable Baroque furnishings can be admired. An open staircase leads to the upper floor where you enter a huge ballroom. The magnificent ceiling fresco by Tiepolo in the next room is also worthy of note: the artist painted the fresco in honour of the marriage of Ludovico Rezzonico.
