San Nicolò da Tolentino
Monastery church of the Theatines
The church San Nicolò da Tolentino was designed by Andrea Palladio and built at the end of the 16th century by Vinzenzo Scamozzi. The former monastery connected to it is now part of the University of Architecture. Inside the church, two paintings deserve special attention, “St. Lawrence” by Bernardo Strozi left of the entrance portal and “The Inspiration of Saint Jerome” by the German painter Johann Liss left of the chancel arch.
