The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna was designed in 1911 by Cesare Bazzani in neoclassical style and is adjacent to the park of the Villa Borghese. The art gallery shows a remarkable cross-section of Italian painting and sculpture from 1800 to the present. The remarkable works are by many Italian artists such as Antonio Canova, Domenico Morelli, Medardo Rosso, Giovanni Boldini, Macchiaioli, Carlo Carrà, Umberto Boccioni and Giorgio de Chirico. Foreign artists are also displayed such as Klee, Max Ernst, Mirò, Van Gogh, Monet, Degas and Cèzanne.
