The famous square of Flowers in Rome
At the Campo de 'Fiori, the flower market, you can really dive into Roman life. In the morning it hosts a colourful weekly market where you can buy anything from fruits and vegetables, fresh fish and shellfish, to chicken and meat – just about anything that the Romans can get. At noon the market is cleaned and belongs again to those dealers from whom it owes its name - the florists. In the middle of the square stands the monument of Giordano Bruno. The Dominican monk was pronounced guilty of heresy and was publicly burned here on 17th February 1600. A stroll or a short stop at a café is definitely worthwhile.
